Senior Telecom Field Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Senior Telecom Field Technician to join their operational team in Rustenburg. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and remote locations. Your expertise will be critical in ensuring the reliable delivery of communication services across the North West province.

This position requires a practical, problem-solving mindset, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently in challenging field environments within the robust telecoms industry.

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic cables, antennas, and base stations.
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative checks on network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues related to telecom systems in the field.
• Respond promptly to service outages and emergency repair requests, minimizing downtime for customers.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures while working on-site.
• Provide basic training and support to end-users on the operation of telecom equipment.

• Proven experience as a Telecom Field Technician or similar role, with at least 4 years of experience.
• Proficiency in fiber optic splicing, testing, and termination techniques.
• Solid understanding of wireless communication principles (e.g., cellular, microwave).
• Experience with diagnosing and repairing common telecom hardware failures.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
