Department Chair, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences
Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University. The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for the position of Department Chair to begin Fall 2026. This is a full‑time, 12‑month, tenure‑track administrative position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The area of academic specialization is open.
Responsibilities- Managing departmental budgets and resources
- Fostering faculty and student development
- Overseeing curriculum and program assessment
- Promoting a collaborative and inclusive academic environment
- Representing the department within the university and the broader community
- Maintaining a reduced teaching load and continuing research program
- A doctorate in Psychology or a closely related field
- A distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service that merits appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate or Full Professor
- Demonstrated administrative experience and effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to supporting a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs
- Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and faculty mentorship is highly desired
- Commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department's curriculum, research, and climate
- Current curriculum vitae
- A cover letter detailing your interest in and qualifications for the position
- A statement describing your leadership philosophy and administrative experience
- A statement of research interests and teaching philosophy
