The Department of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences at Louisiana Tech University invites applications for the position of Department Chair, full‑time, 12‑month, tenure‑track administrative position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, effective Fall 2026. The area of academic specialization is open.
Key Responsibilities- Manage departmental budgets and resources.
- Foster faculty and student development.
- Oversee curriculum and program assessment.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive academic environment.
- Represent the department within the university and broader community.
- Maintain a reduced teaching load and continue a program of research.
- A doctorate in Psychology or a closely related field.
- A distinguished record of teaching, scholarship, and service that merits appointment with tenure at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
- Demonstrated administrative experience and effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to supporting a broad range of undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Experience with budget management, strategic planning, and faculty mentorship is highly desired.
- A commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department’s curriculum, research, and climate.
Candidates will be evaluated on their leadership and administrative experience, the overall quality of their academic and scholarly work, their vision for the department, their commitment to high‑quality student and faculty mentorship, and the strength of their recommendations.
