Director of Automation & Controls

As Director of Automation & Controls at Drax, you will lead strategy, design, and optimization of plant automation and control systems across Energy & Utilities assets. Partnering with Engineering, Maintenance & Asset Management, you’ll drive reliability, safety, and efficiency for power generation operations. You will oversee major automation upgrade projects, standardize controls across sites, and integrate digital/SCADA solutions that support Drax’s zero‑carbon goals.

You’ll mentor multi‑disciplinary teams, manage vendors, ensure regulatory and cybersecurity compliance, and champion a culture of sustainability and continuous improvement.
