Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, OSHA, and EPA regulations, and lead incident investigations to determine corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments and hazard inspections to reduce employee exposure and promote safe practices.
- Develop and drive continuous improvement in safety monitoring, recordkeeping systems, and proactive safety strategies.
- Coordinate safety training, track compliance documentation, and report on safety initiatives to plant management.
- Oversee environmental monitoring, waste management, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support continuous improvement efforts in Lean, Kaizen, and other facility improvement initiatives, including waste reduction and recycling.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental, or related field, with OSHA 30 Hour or similar safety certifications.
- 7+ years of experience in safety/environmental roles in industrial settings, including leadership experience.
- Expertise in a specific EHS discipline (e.g., Fall Protection, Process Safety) or recognized as an EHS Subject Matter Expert.
- Professional certifications in Safety, Environmental, or Occupational Health (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM).
- Strong knowledge of federal safety/environmental laws (OSHA, EPA) and experience with outside agencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, data analysis, report creation, and possess excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
