Professional Counselor 4

Northeast Delta Human Services Authority mission:

Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a Professional Counselor 4 to provide intensive developmental and therapeutic assessment and treatment in serious or complicated cases that require a range of therapeutic and intervention skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) plus two years of licensed counseling experience.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Works as a part of a treatment team to provide quality care and reduce the stigma surrounding behavioral health (mental health or substance use) treatment.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and manages clinical treatment services for complex behavioral health cases by completing initial biopsychosocial assessments, annual reassessments, ASIs, and all assigned screening tools in accordance with NEDHSA policy.
  • Attends in-service trainings for staff and completes required trainings in a timely manner while assisting with the collection of TOMS and QOC surveys, as assigned.
  • Completes written and electronic records with concurrent documentation.
  • Serves as backup to treatment, medical, and support staff at NEDHSA's clinics as needed. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor and/or appointing authority as required.

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty

Location: Ruston Integrated Care Clinic

Compensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.

  • 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000
    * for the initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice. (Full-time clinical practice is defined as no less than 40 hours per week, for a minimum of 45 weeks per year.)
