Brief DescriptionThe Project Manager’s responsibility is to plan, monitor, and execute project requirements to ensure a successful outcome. The goal is to attain the highest quality product while maximizing overall budget health & profitability. This involves extensive collaboration with cross-departmental project stakeholders to prioritize tasks, mitigate risks, prevent roadblocks, and resolve issues as they arise.
Key Responsibilities- Responsible for managing and coordinating all project-related activities including but not limited to customer communication, processing of paperwork, scheduling, reviewing technical drawings, supplier parts, freight, and recordkeeping of overall project progress and health
- Coordinate directly and indirectly with engineering, manufacturing, and installation staff to ensure successful completion of the project
- Ensure the success of the project in meeting all established goals
- Work with sales, estimating, scheduling, purchasing, manufacturing, installation, and accounting departments to meet the criteria described on project scope and scheduling forms
- Evaluate offers for materials and sub-suppliers with the purchasing department based on costing changes, additions, and site requirements
- Work with and help coordinate job site workflow through construction managers, superintendents, and foremen
- Lead meetings for the operational and technical aspects of each project based on agreed timelines, specifications, and work plans
- Keep accurate and detailed records of work hours and expenses for multiple projects
- Prepare and deliver daily/weekly reports as needed
- Schedule, track, and communicate project deliverables to all necessary parties
- Communicate extensively with shop supervisors to increase product knowledge and production status; report project progress and communicate relevant information to superiors

- High school diploma/GED
- 3+ years of project coordination/administration/management
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mathematical ability
- Knowledge of steel and equipment manufacturing, construction, and installation
- Knowledge and skill to work off technical drawings, adjust and/or obtain clarification from the engineering department and/or customers
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word, Project, CAD)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills

- Majority of work is performed in an office environment; occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, forklifts, and electricity when in the manufacturing areas; noise level is usually low in the office and moderate to high in the manufacturing areas
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; must have good close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus; ability to sit for long periods of time, bend, stoop, crouch, walk, use hands and arms to reach for objects and carry files, climb or balance, and speak and hear
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction
- Heavy industrial experience
