Compensation
The base hourly rate for this position is $27.20. Pay will be one of the following:
Mechanic 1: $27.20, Mechanic 2: $30.72.
This is a skilled labor position working to install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment. The job requires working safely, following safety rules, and demonstrating dependability, the ability to follow instructions, and support of the company core values:

- Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company policies and compliance requirements.
- Wears all required personal protective equipment, including protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or hard hat, gloves, dust mask, or respirator.
- Knows, understands, and performs all plant and departmental safety regulations and procedures and immediately reports hazardous conditions.
- Performs safety observations and completes training assignments.
- Understands company policies, regulations, and procedures regarding employee conduct and attendance.
- Demonstrates excellent attendance, attitude, and motivation to advance to the next level.
- Performs duties with direct guidance as needed.
- Assists other maintenance personnel when required.
- Troubleshoots using testing equipment and other measuring techniques.
- Manages downtime by coordinating with production personnel on routine preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Dismantles devices to access and remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
- Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control systems.
- Fabrics repair parts using shop equipment (welding, cutting, machine tools).
- Maintains and tests boilers, CO2 houses, air compressors, and plant critical systems.
- Layouts, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, and cooling process systems.
- Replaces Indurator O‑Rings and molds car bearings.
- Replaces and/or adjusts oven door cables.
- Repairs and/or replaces limit switches.
- Operates in conformance with the ISO certifications held by the Ruston facility.
- Familiar with preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Executes MRO work orders, including entry into SAP.
- Communicates mechanical issues effectively when troubleshooting equipment for internal customers.
- Responds to call‑ins and works the call request.
- Must have own tools.
- Performs other duties as directed.
- Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school (preferred) or one‑year certificate from college or technical school; one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Mechanic license or equivalent work experience.
- Welding certificate or equivalent work experience.
- Lathe certificate or equivalent work experience.
- Forklift, diesel mechanic certificates or equivalent work experience.
- Machinist certificate or equivalent work experience.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform this job. The employee frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, kneels, crouches, and crawls. They use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms, communicating accurately with coworkers. The employee frequently engages in repetitive motions. They lift or push/pull 25 pounds regularly and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Visual acuity is required for work around machinery, including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
