Maintenance Technician – Ruston, LA

A hotel maintenance worker ensures the property’s facilities, guest rooms, and equipment operate safely and efficiently.

They handle routine repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and respond to urgent guest requests. Their work spans plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building upkeep to guarantee an exceptional guest experience.

• Routine Maintenance:
  Conduct regular inspections of premises and systems, such as lighting, fire extinguishers, and pool filters.
• General Repairs:
  Fix plumbing leaks, replace faulty light switches, patch drywall, and perform basic carpentry and painting.
• Guest Requests:
  Promptly respond to maintenance tickets from the front desk or direct guest calls to resolve room issues (e.g., broken A/C, malfunctioning Wi-Fi, or clogged drains).
• Preventive Maintenance:
  Execute scheduled upkeep on equipment (like ice machines, elevators, and PTAC units) to prevent unexpected breakdowns.

Test smoke alarms, secure doors and locks, and follow safety protocols to meet all regulatory standards.

All other duties as assigned.

• Experience:
  
  Proven experience in general maintenance or a trade (electrical, plumbing, or HVAC).
• Physical Stamina:
  Ability to lift heavy objects, stand, bend, and work on ladders for extended periods.
• Problem-Solving:
  Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot quickly under pressure.

Customer Service:

Professional demeanor and ability to interact politely with hotel guests and staff.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certifications in HVAC (e.g., EPA certification), electrical, or plumbing are highly desirable.

Valid driver’s license.
