Musician Music Director Stars Theatre Rutherford, NJ

Stars Theatre Company Youth Theatre Workshop is looking for a Music Director who plays piano and loves musicals.

This is a great opportunity for a passionate, collaborative music educator who loves working with young performers and who wants to be part of a creative,energetic new theater program in Rutherford N.J.

Overview:

Our Music Directors play an important role in helping young performers develop their musical theater skills while creating a supportive, and collaborative rehearsal environment. You would work closely with our students and theater faculty to prepare musical numbers, teach vocal parts, build performance skills, and get students excited to perform.

Collaborate with theater teachers, choreographers, and tech crew

Adapt instruction to different ages, abilities, and learning styles

Teach vocal parts, harmonies, lyrics, and musical concepts in an engaging and age-appropriate way

Help students develop confidence, musicality, stage presence, and performance skills

Strong sight reading and quick transposition skills required

Strong musical and vocal skills

Experience as a Music Director for musicians preferred

Strong communication and classroom management skills

Able to play piano for rehearsals and performances if needed

Schedule:

Sundays: 1:00 pm–3:00 PM

Availability for the full schedule is required. Sept 20th
-Dec 6th plus availability on Dec 10th-12th for tech & performances.

$30.00 – $30.00 per hour
