Position SummaryProduction Painters are responsible for applying coatings on a variety of parts and equipment within a paint booth environment. The painter will also manage all aspects of the coating application process, as well as monitor and track usage to ensure regulation compliance.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Clean and prepare material surfaces for painting that include the use of masking and fixtures.
- Perform paint operations utilizing multiple application methods including HVLP spray guns, spray cans and brushes as required.
- Ensure the correct approved paint recipe is utilized including the use of paint thinner when required.
- Track approved paint usage to ensure compliance with hourly and monthly spray totals by populating a MS Windows-based spreadsheet.
- Sustain a clean and safe working environment, including (but not limited to) daily and weekly cleaning and preventative maintenance activities on spray equipment and the booth.
- Unload parts to and from paint booth using various methods; including the use of overhead cranes and forklifts.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose paint problems that include inconsistent spray, spray gun cleaning and mechanical issues and paint visual defects contributed to the spray process.
- Work with production process members in process operations maintaining system standards and supporting daily production needs (Safety Quality, Prod, Cost).
- Additional duties as necessary.
- Good communication skills.
- Basic computer skills including the use of MS Office.
- Attention to details and quality of workmanship.
- Ability to follow directions and written instructions.
- Ability to work overtime (days, weekends) as necessary.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- While performing duties of the job, employee is required to move around and be still; use hands to handle objects, carry, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Employee will occasionally lift an average of 30 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Shop floor working environment.
- Noise level is minimal with intervals of spikes.
Required to wear safety shoes, safety glasses, respirator when positioned between the product.
Total RewardsThe compensation range for this position is $46,700.00 - $70,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
