SUMMARY
The CNC Operator I is an entry level position responsible for overseeing the basic CNC operation and inspection of machined parts. Duties include operating CNC lathes and milling machines, preparing and loading of parts and daily inspection and maintenance to ensure all quality requirements are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensure parts are machined to meet production goals, including cycle time, quantity and quality.
- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto CNC machines.
- Handle materials appropriately and safely.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints and drawings.
- Perform in‑process inspection of machine parts to ensure manufacturing adherence to all quality regulations.
- Measure and check dimensions and tolerances using measuring devices, including (but not limited to) calipers, micrometers and gauges.
- Perform daily maintenance on CNC machinery.
- Conduct routine inspection and replace worn‑out tooling as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Perform daily 6S activities to ensure organization and cleanliness of work area.
- Perform necessary transactions in ERP system to maintain accurate inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of CNC G‑codes and M‑codes.
- Basic skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools.
- Proficiency in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
- Haas Controller experience preferred.
- Quality assurance experience preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑focused environment.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees must sit, stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear while performing duties.
WORK ENVIRONMENTShop floor environment requiring safety glasses, shoes, and other safety equipment. Employees must comply with safety regulations while present on the production floor.
COMPENSATION RANGE$46,700.00 – $70,100.00, depending on experience. Eligible for performance‑based bonus plan.
