Preschool Lead: Nurturing & Learning

About This Role

The Rutland County Parent Child Center (RCPCC) is seeking educators to join us for our new program opening at the Pittsford Village Farm in Pittsford, Vermont. Our anticipated opening will be August 2026. Join a team committed to supporting the whole family in their parenting journey. RCPCC uses a 2-Gen approach, working with both families and children simultaneously to identify needs and align programming to deliver services for long-term impacts. Our new location will serve children from 6 weeks through 5 years of age. Various positions available.

General responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the implementation of curricula activities and encouraging participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.
• Maintain frequent communications with families.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transitions.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications depend on the position sought.

• Assistants & Floats: Must have at least a year of experience in a center-based setting and completion of Fundamentals, or a 3-credit college course focusing on human growth and development, or completion of a high school program focusing on human services. Assistants and Floats start at $18/hr.
• Preschool Lead: Must have completed at least 21 credits in Early Education and have at least a year of experience in a center-based program. Lead salaries start at $21/hr.
• Preschool Co-Lead: Should have a Bachelor’s Degree and license to teach through the AOE. Licensed teachers start at $26/hr.
• Candidates must be caring and compassionate, have strong communication skills with both adults and children, demonstrate extraordinary patience, and possess a passion to serve families and the community.

• Preference will be given to those residing in the town of Pittsford.
• An opening date has not yet been established as the Farm is undergoing a complete renovation. The anticipated completion of the project is June/July. RCPCC hopes to be up and running in August. These details are subject to change.
• Some positions may be immediately available, in which case a sooner start date would be possible. Our current location is in Brandon, VT.
