Patient Care Expediter

Patient Care Expediter Works in cooperation with nursing staff and under the direction of the providers in providing timely, efficient, and effective acute care of patients utilizing a team model. Performs care including assessments, treatments and medication administration to patients utilizing skills based on the National Scope of Practice for Paramedics (VT EMS Protocols).

Minimum Education
* HS Diploma or equivalent.
* Completion of accredited paramedic education program. Minimum Work Experience
* 3 years as a pre-hospital care provider required, experience as a Critical Care Paramedic preferred.
* Experience with immobilization and stabilization procedures a plus. Required Licenses/Certifications
* NREMT registration.
* Current Vermont State EMS certification and/or LPN licensure.
* BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
* Pediatric Avanced Life Support (PALS)
* Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
* Basic airway skills.
* Immobilization skills.
* IV therapy skills.
* Oxygen and ventilation administration skills.
* Bleeding control and shock management skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
* Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
* Demonstrated proficiency in providing critical care, knowledge, and skills.
* Demonstrated moderate knowledge of Medical Terminology.
