Supervisory and administrative work at a professional level in a Probation & Parole office. Under the supervision of a Community Corrections District Manager, performs administrative and supervisory work required in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of correctional services. Supervision is exercised over casework and security employees, volunteers and contractors. Extensive liaison occurs with correctional, law enforcement, and service provider personnel. Oversees the development of work, education, housing, restorative justice and criminogenic needs reducing programs.

All employees of the Agency of Human Services perform their respective functions adhering to four key practices: customer service, holistic service, strengths-based relationships and results orientation.

Duties are mainly performed in a field office. Job duties require private means of transportation and some travel is expected. Evening and weekend work may occur. Emergency situations may require availability at any time. Direct contact with offenders is predictable and poses possible danger.

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent AND five(5) years or more of work experience, including three(3) years in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of correctional services for clients in a human services setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience.

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.

Conviction History Requirements
:
Candidates who have any felony conviction record or who, within the past five (5) years, have been placed under supervision or sanctioned for a misdemeanor conviction must receive a waiver from the Commissioner of Corrections in order to be considered for employment.
