About the Position

RRMC is recruiting a full scope Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join Rutland Women’s Healthcare. This CNM will be part of a thriving OB/GYN practice in Vermont, working closely with four OB/GYN Physicians and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

The outpatient, hospital‑owned practice is adjacent to the main hospital campus and shares an office on the same floor as the labor and delivery unit for on‑call use. The hospital team includes highly autonomous nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and pediatricians, facilitating roughly 300 births each year.

Responsibilities

This position includes first call for OB and Gyn patients, usually 24‑hour shifts, one day a week and one weekend a month.

The Certified Nurse Midwife provides medical care and treatment to gynecological and obstetrical patients in collaboration with physicians in the department of obstetrics/gynecology throughout a woman's lifespan and across prenatal, delivery, and postpartum periods.

Qualifications
  • Either Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with Midwifery focus
  • Successful completion of an accredited graduate‑level Midwifery program
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
  • Licensed RN in the State of Vermont
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ultrasound assessment and interpretation
  • Experience with GYN procedures (IUD/Nexplanon/I&Ds/Colposcopy)
  • Experience as first assist at c‑sections
  • Experience in both outpatient and hospital‑based settings
  • Familiarity with quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to deal with patients from diverse socio‑economic backgrounds
  • Basic Microsoft desktop application and navigation skills
