Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - General

Registered Nurse (RN) - General

As a general RN, you provide direct nursing care across hospital or clinic settings, adapting to patient needs and unit requirements. You assess patients, implement nursing interventions, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to support safe and effective outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes in status.
  • Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and document responses.
  • Perform basic nursing procedures, collect specimens, and support wound care as indicated.
  • Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other staff to plan and adjust care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on treatments, procedures, and discharge instructions.
  • Document care activities, progress notes, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in care escalation per policy.
  • Assist with discharge planning and transition to home or additional care settings.
Qualifications

Education:

BSN preferred; ADN with licensure eligible may be acceptable depending on the role and facility.

Licensure:
Current, active Registered Nurse licensure in the United States.

Certifications:

BLS; ACLS and other specialty certifications as required by unit or department

Experience or

Skills:

Clinical experience in inpatient or outpatient settings; strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Experience
  • Prior medical-surgical or specialty unit experience preferred.
  • Experience using electronic health records for documentation and care planning.
Preferred
  • BSN degree or specialty certifications such as ICU, ED, or perioperative tracks
  • Work Environment

    Work in hospital units or clinics with diverse patient populations; shift-based with possible nights and weekends. Team-based care with collaboration across disciplines; documentation and regulatory compliance are routine. Supportive work culture with ongoing professional development opportunities.
