Licensed Practical Nurse

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with state regulations.
• Administer medications and document therapeutic effects.
• Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration).
• Prepare and give injections and enemas, monitor catheters, dress wounds, and give alcohol rubs and massages.
• Assist with resident comfort and monitor their physical and emotional well-being.
• Monitor patient health and record signs.
• Report to registered nurses about patients' status.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respect their rights.
• Supervise nursing assistants and aides.

Required Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in clinical skills with an emphasis on patient care.
• Ability to handle a substantial amount of responsibility and to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of basic computer operations and clinical software systems.
