House Manager/Family Assistant

An active family of six in Rye is seeking a full-time house manager/family assistant to keep their busy home running smoothly. The schedule for this role will be 45 hours per week guaranteed, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility for occasional hours on weekends with advance notice. The family has a second home in the Hamptons, and there will be some management required, including opening and closing for the season.

• Coordinate and manage contractors, vendors, cleaners, organizers, and maintenance professionals
• Household organization- creating and maintaining systems
• Grocery shopping and kitchen organization
• Maintaining household inventory and purchasing necessary supplies
• Various errands, including shopping, returns, and sending packages
• Oversee care of family dogs
• Prepare family dinners on a daily basis
• Pack children's school lunches when necessary
• Children's laundry
• Assist with some childcare when needed- this is mainly school pickup and transportation to scheduled activities
• Management of the family's second home in the Hamptons, including opening and closing each season

• Proactive and able to problem solve and take initiative
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Organized with the ability to create household systems
• Dependable, trustworthy, and professional
• Excellent communication skills
• Works well with others and collaborates as needed
• Comfortable in the kitchen and willing to cook daily
• Happy to work around and with children and dogs
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines and projects
• Comfortable and experienced with managing vendors

• US work authorization
• Local to Rye
• Experience working as a full-time house manager with a private family
• Driver's license
• Strong verifiable references
• Some flexibility to travel to the family's secondary home as needed

• $50/hr.+
