Responsibilities
  • Help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Inform customers of food specials and recommend grocery items.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and review "sell by" dates.
  • Provide fresh and non‑perishable grocery products to customers.
  • Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
  • Report product ordering or shipping discrepancies to the manager.
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and keep temperature logs.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold in the department and be able to answer questions and recommend items.
  • Create a welcoming environment for customers, addressing questions about products in the department and store.
  • Enforce safety programs by following procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and alerting appropriate staff of needed repairs.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Manage conflict in a nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
  • Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer or business issues.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Customer Service skills.

  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
