To collaborate with Saco's educators, specialists, and leadership teams in designing and supporting high-quality programming for students with behavioral needs, ensuring all students with disabilities can fully access their education.

The Role

Are you an experienced behavior professional ready to make a district wide impact? We are seeking a Behavior Consultant to serve as a collaborative coach, trainer, and resource to our educators, related service providers, and administrative team.

In This Flexible Consultant Role, You Will:

  • Shape programming and interventions for students with diverse behavioral needs.
  • Coach and empower staff to implement effective strategies and positive supports.
  • Drive systemic improvement through data-based decision-making and best practices.

This is a dynamic opportunity to work across classrooms and programs, bringing your expertise to the forefront while helping Saco Schools build a culture of inclusion and student success.

Key Responsibilities

Consultation & Collaboration

  • Guide staff in developing tools and collecting high-quality progress-monitoring data on behavioral goals.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and generate actionable reports.
  • Lead the development of positive behavior support plans using evidence-based interventions.
  • Consult with general education, special education, and specialty service teams to build effective behavior management strategies district wide.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Train and coach staff on writing and implementing behavior support plans with fidelity.
  • Co-teach/model social skills and executive functioning instruction to support Tiered interventions.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to staff, supporting implementation of instructional programs.
  • Monitor student data and coach teams to adjust programming as needed for improved outcomes.

Section 28 Supervision

  • Provide supervision to Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) per Section 28 program standards.
  • Ensure program compliance and high-quality documentation.

Professional Leadership

  • Attend IEP meetings as needed to support teams in developing high-quality behavioral supports.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices through professional development and collaborative learning.
  • Promote family engagement through clear communication and parent collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field (Education, Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology).
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential required.
  • Maine state licensure and valid CHRC (Criminal History Records Check).
  • Demonstrated expertise in Section 28 services administration and supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with school teams and families.
