Pro Care Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2026–2027 school year in Somerville, ME. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to provide one‑on‑one nursing support for a student with Dravet Syndrome and Autism in a collaborative school environment.
This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the student's health, safety, and access to education while working closely with school staff, families, and support teams.
Work Schedule- Full‑Time
- August 2026 – June 2027
- 37.5–40 Hours per Week
- 7.5 Hours per Day
- Schedule flexibility available due to student transportation needs
- Open to shadowing during Summer 2026
- Active Maine Registered Nurse (RN) License required
- Previous pediatric, school-based, or special needs nursing experience preferred
- Experience supporting students with seizure disorders preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and educational staff
- Provide one‑on‑one nursing support for a student throughout the school day
- Ride to and from school daily with the student
- Monitor for seizure activity and follow the student's medical plan as needed
- Support staff with seizure response protocols and health‑related procedures
- Advise staff regarding outdoor activities and environmental considerations related to temperature‑triggered seizures
- Complete nursing observations and maintain accurate documentation throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with educational staff and support teams
- Assist with behavioral data collection when appropriate
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal healthcare regulations
- 1:1 Student Assignment
- Student with Dravet Syndrome and Autism
- Dedicated Educational Technician (Ed Tech) support provided for activities of daily living (ADLs)
