Position: 1:1 School Registered Nurse

Pro Care Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for the 2026–2027 school year in Somerville, ME. This full‑time position offers the opportunity to provide one‑on‑one nursing support for a student with Dravet Syndrome and Autism in a collaborative school environment.

This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the student's health, safety, and access to education while working closely with school staff, families, and support teams.

Work Schedule
  • Full‑Time
  • August 2026 – June 2027
  • 37.5–40 Hours per Week
  • 7.5 Hours per Day
  • Schedule flexibility available due to student transportation needs
  • Open to shadowing during Summer 2026
Qualifications
  • Active Maine Registered Nurse (RN) License required
  • Previous pediatric, school-based, or special needs nursing experience preferred
  • Experience supporting students with seizure disorders preferred
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and educational staff
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one‑on‑one nursing support for a student throughout the school day
  • Ride to and from school daily with the student
  • Monitor for seizure activity and follow the student's medical plan as needed
  • Support staff with seizure response protocols and health‑related procedures
  • Advise staff regarding outdoor activities and environmental considerations related to temperature‑triggered seizures
  • Complete nursing observations and maintain accurate documentation throughout the school day
  • Collaborate closely with educational staff and support teams
  • Assist with behavioral data collection when appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal healthcare regulations
Caseload
  • 1:1 Student Assignment
  • Student with Dravet Syndrome and Autism
  • Dedicated Educational Technician (Ed Tech) support provided for activities of daily living (ADLs)
