Job DescriptionJameson Elementary School – anticipated special education teacher for grades PreK‑2. Full‑time position located ½ mile from the Atlantic Ocean in a 700‑student, three‑school district. The role involves working with a team of providers to implement programming for students with intensive needs, primarily in the special education setting. This position is anticipated pending budget approval.

- Maintains or is eligible for Maine Department of Education Teaching Certificate (286 or 282 PreK and K‑8)
Job Summary
- Conduct academic evaluations and classroom observations
- Fulfill case management duties, including paperwork and consultation with classroom teachers
- Consult with team members to provide integrated programming
- Complete progress monitoring of all students on a scheduled basis
Provide direct instruction in literacy, math, and daily living skills - Develop and implement Positive Behavior Support Plans
- Supervise Educational Technicians
- Experience working with students with autism and/or cognitive disabilities; experience supporting students in the use of AAC devices
- Knowledge of Chapter 101 regulations
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and share best practices
- Excellent communication with parents, teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to promote and support student success
- Demonstrated ability to understand and support the academic, social, and emotional needs of students
- Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom
- Exemplary time management and organizational skills
