Position Overview:

Under the general supervision of the Pre-K Director, the Pre-K Teacher is responsible for facilitating student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills. This is accomplished through implementing district-approved curriculum, creating a flexible and nurturing learning environment, documenting student progress, and maintaining open communication with students, families, and administration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver Pre-K curriculum aligned with school district goals and objectives
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment conducive to individualized and small group instruction
• Embrace and apply a whole child-centered philosophy in daily practice
• Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students
• Implement evidence-based programs and frameworks, including Pre-K for ME, Second Step, Eureka Math, Heggerty, or similar models
• Support students through Response to Intervention (RtI) plans as needed
• Collaborate effectively within a team environment alongside colleagues, specialists, and support staff
• Engage families and community members as meaningful partners in their child's education
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, activities, and outcomes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong understanding of current early childhood teaching methods and educational pedagogy
• Ability to differentiate instruction based on individual student learning styles and developmental needs
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and student rights
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Proficiency in using technology, computer networks, and software applications as needed
• Strong organizational and classroom management skills within a child-centered environment

Qualifications:

• Current Maine DOE Certification (081) required
• Current CHRC required
• Prior Pre-K teaching experience preferred

Compensation:
Based on experience and Education, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement Teacher - Salary Range - $46,119 - $83,057
