Anticipated Pre-K Special Education Teacher; Ages 3

Special Education Teacher at Saco Pre-K Position

Purpose:

The Pre-K Special Education Teacher will work with students on skills related to IEP goals to help student readiness for kindergarten.

• Maine Dept. of Education Teacher Certification (081/282/282B)
• Background in special education, knowledge of teaching developmental/functional life skills, and specially designed instructional strategies.
• Experience with behavioral strategies and differentiation according to student needs and levels.
• Use of multi-modality approaches and multiple models to support students' needs effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a team of educational technicians and related service providers.
• Ability to comply with mandated regulations and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
• Responsible for data entry and required management of student hours performed.
• Travel required as needed for student services. Mileage/tolls are reimbursable at the federal rate.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the administrative team and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Teacher - Salary Range - $46,119 - $83,057
