Job Description & How to Apply Below

Swift Current Energy, a renewable energy project developer, owner and operator, is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee the day-to‑day operations at our ~100 MWac Three Rivers Photovoltaic (PV) site located in Hancock County, Maine. The project is under construction with commercial operations projected for late 2026.

This project is a key asset within SCE’s portfolio and offers meaningful hands‑on experience across both construction and operations. SCE is seeking to fill this position promptly. The selected candidate will initially be embedded with the construction team, working alongside the Site Construction Manager to gain a strong understanding of site design, systems, and execution. This early involvement is intended to ensure a seamless transition into the Site Supervisor role at turnover, with full ownership of site operations, performance, safety, and coordination with O&M providers upon COD.

The Site Supervisor role is responsible for the overall performance, safety, and compliance of the facility.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day operations through the O&M provider, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient power generation across all systems, including modules, inverters, trackers, and balance of plant (BOP) equipment.
  • Review and evaluate the planned maintenance schedule provided by the O&M Operator. If necessary, make any required changes or improvements to ensure optimal performance.
  • Primary responsibility to ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are strictly adhered to by everyone on‑site. The scope of responsibilities will cover a wide range of safety‑related tasks, including but not limited to safety equipment inspections, regular compliance checks, and routine safety audits.
  • Oversee the facility’s compliance with all environmental regulations and maintain close collaboration with the Company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental Team.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements (NERC, ISO, state, and local).
  • Collaborate with the Asset Management Team to support annual budgeting, track performance against plan, and manage site level financial performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, equipment reliability trends, and recurring failures to proactively identify opportunities for performance improvement and risk reduction.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve site operating procedures, emergency response plans, and site readiness initiatives to promote consistent execution and long‑term operational excellence.
  • Serve as the primary site point of contact, coordinating with internal teams, O&M providers, OEMs, grid operators, and local stakeholders.
  • Support development, maintenance, and execution of the site emergency response plan.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support site operations and company objectives.

Responsibilities may evolve based on company needs and individual development.

This position reports to the Director of Operations.

Required Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting the operations of utility scale solar projects, either directly or through a third‑party O&M provider.
  • Working knowledge of site safety programs, including OSHA requirements, training, and compliance activities. Responsible for enforcing site safety expectations with support from SCE safety leadership.
  • Ability to identify and address performance issues, including diagnosing equipment underperformance and coordinating corrective actions with O&M providers, OEMs, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by influence, establish accountability, and effectively coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with solar project warranties, including basic understanding of OEM and EPC warranty structures and claim processes.
  • Experience working with local stakeholders, including landowners and community representatives.
  • Experience supporting or managing site budgets and tracking operational expenses.
  • Understanding of spare parts management, including tracking inventory and planning for critical spares based on lead times and failure risk.
  • Familiarity with commercial agreements such as O&M contracts and power purchase agreements is a plus.
  • Experience supporting response time efforts during major site events is preferred.
  • High voltage training is a plus.
Personal Characteristics
  • Self‑motivated and able to operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Strong relationship builder across internal teams, O&M providers, and local stakeholders.
  • Organized and detail oriented, with a structured approach to managing site activities.
  • Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take ownership.
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
