Impact of the Role

General Profile

* Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process

* Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines

* Works with close supervision

* Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Essential Functions

* Supports the engineering design and development of electrical control and automation systems and devices.

* Provides setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control systems and prototypes.

* Assists with testing of systems, devices, and instruments.

* Documents testing procedures, and measures and records performance results following established methods.

* Maintains the inventory of supplies and tools used for testing and maintenance.

Required Qualifications

* Required education and experience:
Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Preferred education and experience:
Associate's Degree

* Discipline/Major:
Technical training preferred

* Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Electronic Equipment Installation. Engineering Support. Laboratory Supply Management. Performance Analysis. Technical Troubleshooting. Testing Result Reporting. Control Systems. Electro-Mechanical Components/Instruments. Test Documentation. Equipment Repairs. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) Software.

Physical Requirements

* Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.

* Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

* May need to stand for long periods of time.

* Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

* May be requested to work a different shift.

* This position is Safety-Sensitive.

* Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
