• Assists engineers and scientists as they create, modify, and test products and processes.
• Supports with technical tasks and project support.
• Sets up equipment and monitors tests and experiments.
• Inspects products and processes for flaws and identifies areas of improvement.
• Observes results, collects data, and compiles summaries and reports.
• Performs extensive research and development during the creation phase of product.
• Utilizes computer-aided design and drafting equipment during design phase.

• Requires basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process.
• Works within clearly defined standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods and adheres to quality guidelines.
• Works with close supervision.
• Performs manual tasks according to established procedures.

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience.

• Associate's Degree.
• Technical training preferred.
• Technical expertise; ability to understand and follow directions. Design expertise. Mathematical skills. Engineering support. Computer‑Aided Engineering (CAE) software.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
• This position is Safety‑Sensitive.

• May be required to travel or work in varying environments as the role demands.
