What You’ll Do
As a Project Accountant, you’ll play a key role in keeping projects financially sound from start to finish. You’ll work closely with project managers and leadership to ensure budgets stay on track, reporting is accurate, and decisions are backed by solid financial insight.
Your work directly supports successful projects—and you’ll be respected as a trusted financial partner, not just “the numbers person.”
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, track, and monitor project budgets with accuracy and care
- Maintain clear financial reporting on revenue, expenses, and project performance
- Manage project-related accounts receivable
- Analyze costs and trends to identify savings and reduce financial risk
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, contracts, and regulations
- Support internal and external audits with organized documentation
- Collaborate regularly with project managers, supervisors, and leadership to align financial and project goals

Skills & Experience- Solid understanding of accounting principles and project cost tracking
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis
- Familiarity with contract accounting and procurement processes
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage experience is a plus)
- Strong Excel skills, including financial models and data analysis
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects
- Clear communicator who enjoys working with others
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in project accounting or financial management
- Experience supporting audits or compliance reviews
