Description

This position is primarily responsible for providing effective, efficient and timely ongoing support in the closing of residential and consumer loans.

Essential Functions
  • Provide professional, courteous, and efficient service to all internal and external customers while facilitating the loan closing process.
  • Comply with federal and state banking regulations, as well as with all Bank and department policies and procedures.
  • Efficiently navigate, verify and update loan data in the Bank’s loan origination system (LOS) and information within the Secondary Market investor’s website(s).
  • Proficiently calculate fees and charges including prorating real estate taxes, payoffs and other insurances associated with closing transactions.
  • Effectively prepare and verify accuracy of Residential Loan documentation and Consumer/Collateral Loan documentation and assure regulatory compliance with HMDA, TRID, RESPA, Regulation Z, Regulation B, Flood and any other applicable regulations.
  • Ensure the loan file includes proper title vesting, legal descriptions and appropriate title affidavits.
  • Review and validate loan documentation and closing figures prepared by closing agents prior to closing.
  • Book/Board portfolio loans onto the Bank’s core system, disburse loan funds into correct General Ledger accounts, pay third party vendor invoices and prepare and approve wires and/or checks for closing agents.
  • Package Secondary Market closed loans for delivery to investor for sale. Process wire funds when received from Secondary Market investor(s).
  • Ensure closed loans contain documents with proper signatures, dates and other relevant data to guarantee timely delivery of the file to Completion for QC Review.
  • Monitor, complete and assist team members in reconciling General Ledger account inaccuracies as indicated by Accounting.
  • Process incoming wire transfers as required.
  • Complete HELOC check orders and deliver as requested.
  • Actively assist in managing the closing pipeline and Closing Calendar requests.
Other Duties And Responsibilities
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties or special assignments as required or assigned.
  • Electronically file documents for recording at the Registry of Deeds and file UCC’s with the Secretary of State, as needed, or provide documents to the title attorney as required.
  • Perform general filing, typing and extensive use of PC.
  • Communicate with Loan Officers, real estate agents, attorneys, tax offices, customers and all other parties involved with loan closing.
  • Serve on various committees as assigned.
Requirements

Position Qualifications and

Education Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of experience in secondary market loan closing documentation or similar background preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of loan compliance, banking regulations and procedures and documentation.
  • Elevated understanding of the loan process.
  • Ability to deliver quality work during times of increased volumes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, particularly in working with documentation that requires special or confidential handling.
  • Capacity to interpret title packages and recognize title defects/inaccuracies.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in priorities quickly.
  • Able to interact harmoniously, professionally, cordially and effectively with others, focusing on the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; comfortable learning new software as required.
  • Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
