WEX, Inc. is seeking a Senior Enterprise AI Security Architect to help define the vision, strategy, and provide technical leadership for defining the security strategy, architecture, and governance for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) across the global enterprise. This individual will serve as a high-level visionary, bridging the gap between business requirements and technical security execution. You will be responsible for designing resilient security architectures that protect WEX’s global assets and people, ensuring robust compliance, while enabling rapid innovation.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME), bridging the gap between Data Science, Software Engineering, and Cyber Security to build a robust Secure AI ecosystem.

We’re the Global Information Security Team at WEX, responsible for implementing and operating security technologies and processes throughout WEX. We don’t just operate security tools; we engineer trust. Our team partners with executive leadership and cross‑functional engineering groups to ensure WEX is secure by design. We are looking for a Senior Enterprise AI Security Architect that is responsible for ensuring the secure function of software development, infrastructure deployment, and regulatory alignment.

• 10+ years of experience in information security, including 3+ years in an enterprise security architecture role with a focus on emerging technologies.
• Deep expertise in enterprise security architecture, including designing secure patterns for infrastructure, cloud, network, and identity as they relate to AI model hosting and agentic execution environments.
• Strong practical understanding of modern cloud and hybrid infrastructure (AWS, Azure), networking, and security engineering principles.
• Extensive experience designing solutions that meet security, compliance, and business requirements for generative AI and autonomous systems.
• Strong working knowledge of major regulatory and compliance frameworks such as PCI‑DSS, NIST, GDPR, SOX, or HITRUST and their evolving application to AI data privacy.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical architecture standards and implementation guidance.
• Experience reviewing and approving security architecture for complex enterprise systems including Large Language Models and multi‑agent workflows.
• Comfortable troubleshooting and advising on security or network issues in complex distributed environments including vector databases and inference endpoints.
