This position is responsible for maintaining the bank’s facilities to ensure they are safe, clean, and professional. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance and small‑scale repair of buildings and equipment, along with various courier functions.

Essential Functions
  • Provides professional, courteous and efficient service to all internal and external customers, reflecting the bank’s commitment to high standards of integrity and service excellence.

  • Cleans and maintains the bank’s facilities; conducts small‑scale repairs and general maintenance activities including, but not limited to: repairing locks, changing lighting, repairing furniture, files, and moving office equipment.
  • Installs or helps to install various types of equipment, structures, and modular office products, etc.
  • Responsible for office relocation, set‑up and cleaning up of work areas.
  • Receives and responds to daily facility “Help Desk” requests.
  • Responsible for grounds maintenance, including lawn mowing, raking, sweeping, shoveling snow, and upkeep of shrubbery and all other plant life at all locations.
  • Responsible for office supply distribution and organizing inventory.
  • Minor carpentry, plumbing and electrical repairs.
  • Responds to facility‑related emergencies, both during the day shift and off‑shift, weekends or holidays.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance tasks for various systems.
  • Serves as interoffice courier, picking up and delivering office and maintenance supplies, as necessary.
  • Responsible for processing internal and external mail and accepting deliveries as needed.
  • Drives and operates company vehicle to and from various SBSI locations.
  • Assists with set up, take down, and possible supply runs for any functions in conference rooms at the operations center.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties or special assignments as required, always aligning with the bank’s values of integrity, service, and collaboration.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attends all required meetings and training, maintaining a commitment to personal and professional growth in alignment with the bank’s values.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties or special assignments as required or assigned.
  • Serves on various committees as assigned, actively contributing to the improvement of branch operations and customer satisfaction.
Working Conditions
  • Extensive operation of tools and office equipment requiring dexterity and coordination and frequent use of hands.
  • Occasionally climbs ladders to perform repairs and preventative rooftop maintenance.
  • Required to lift office supplies and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Duties require bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, and crawling.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours when required.
  • Some use of personal vehicle for business calls, site inspections and other needed travel outside the bank.
  • Operation of computers and office equipment requiring dexterity, coordination, and frequent use of hands.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience in facility operations and building maintenance preferred.
  • Strong mechanical background including skills in carpentry, electrical repair, boiler, and safety preventive maintenance, including ability to use standard hand and power tools.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of bank management and staff.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, a serviceable automobile properly registered with proper liability insurance as required by state law.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in priorities quickly.
  • Able to work harmoniously, professionally, cordially and effectively with others, focusing on the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork.

  • Ability to read/see documents and computer screens, to communicate in person and via the telephone and use a computer and other office equipment.

  • Complies with federal and state banking regulations, as well as with all bank and department policies and procedures.
