About the Role:

As the Executive Director of Primary Care at Quincy Medical Group, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for one of the organization’s largest and most impactful service lines. Reporting to executive leadership, you will oversee multiple primary care departments and leaders while shaping the future of care delivery across the organization. This executive leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategies that improve patient access, quality, operational performance, employee engagement, financial stewardship, and the overall patient experience.

Working collaboratively with physician leaders and executive partners, you will drive organizational initiatives that position Primary Care for continued growth while ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes and operational excellence. This position is ideal for an experienced healthcare executive who thrives on leading through others, developing high-performing teams, and transforming strategy into measurable results.

Schedule & Work Environment

Full-time executive leadership position, Monday-Friday, daytime hours. Schedule flexibility required based on operational and organizational needs. Regular travel between Quincy Medical Group clinic locations. Collaborative leadership role partnering with physicians, executive leadership, and multidisciplinary teams across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the long-term strategic vision for Primary Care services, aligning operational priorities with organizational goals and future growth initiatives.
  • Provide executive oversight for multiple primary care departments, service lines, and leadership teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with physician leadership and executive teams to improve patient access, clinical quality, operational efficiency, workforce engagement, and patient satisfaction.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop directors, managers, and emerging leaders while implementing succession planning strategies that support long-term organizational success.
  • Monitor operational, financial, quality, and patient experience metrics to identify opportunities, remove barriers, and drive measurable performance improvements.
  • Guide organizational change initiatives while ensuring successful implementation of strategic priorities across Primary Care operations.
  • Collaborate with finance, human resources, quality, compliance, information technology, and clinical leadership to optimize resources and support organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory requirements while maintaining continuous accreditation readiness and operational excellence.
  • Evaluate healthcare trends, market opportunities, and emerging care delivery models to support innovation and sustainable growth.
  • Represent Quincy Medical Group through strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, community organizations, and healthcare partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of organizational priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field preferred.
  • Progressive leadership experience within healthcare operations, primary care, ambulatory care, or multispecialty medical group practice required.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex healthcare operations across multiple departments, clinics, or service lines.
  • Experience leading senior leaders and developing high-performing management teams.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement, accreditation standards, and operational best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, financial acumen, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational and financial data to guide strategic decision-making and improve organizational performance.
  • Ability to lead through change while fostering employee engagement and organizational culture.
  • Valid Illinois driver's license required.
