Summary of RoleThe Branch Manager’s primary duty is to direct the operations of the 500 Main St., Saco branch, ensuring the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals. This role leads and supervises the staff and daily operations in the assigned branch location, ensuring high-quality member service. The Branch Manager develops and maintains positive working relationships with employees and members, independently makes decisions and solves problems, and plays a key role in hiring, training, and coaching Member Service Representatives.
EssentialJob Functions and Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and oversight of assigned staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and resource allocation.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with members, resolving issues, complaints, and concerns, and keeping management apprised of situations requiring additional escalation.
- Ensures smooth daily branch operations and monitors branch activities and operating results relative to compliance with Credit Union policies, procedures, and established objectives, ensuring appropriate steps are taken as needed.
- Assists members in account opening, loan applications, bookings and closings, and any other account or loan requests.
- Promotes a workplace culture aligned with Credit Union’s values and priorities within the branch, leading by example and developing employees based on identified needs.
- Collaborates and communicates with other managers and departments to support the development and achievement of Credit Union’s goals.
- Effectively evaluates the efficiency of the branch and develops specific recommendations for improvements regarding personnel, facilities, products, pricing, policies, and processes.
- Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Monday-Friday schedule; occasional Saturdays required. Saturday hours are 7:45 a.m.
- 12:15 p.m; hours may vary based on business needs. An additional $32 a day will be paid for work occurring on Saturdays. - Health, dental, and vision insurance, including fully subsidized employee-only coverage options; dependent coverage available.

Education and Experience
- (1) An Associate’s degree, (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program, preferred.
- Two to five years of similar or related experience preferred.
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- High level of regard for trust and confidentiality.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate branch personnel, build a positive work environment, and foster teamwork.
- Ability to train, coach, and support employees in operational procedures, policy compliance, and customer service standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate respectfully with all personality styles.
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees, members, and other entities, developing and maintaining positive relationships.
- Strong computer and general office equipment knowledge, and willingness to learn new technology.
- Ability to deal with multiple, changing priorities and interruptions in a multi-faceted work environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including the ability to organize time effectively and remain flexible to effectively meet competing demands.
This role is based in a branch environment and involves assisting members and staff in person, using a computer, and moving within the branch as needed. Travel to various locations, typically within the State of Maine, may be frequent. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
