$7500 Sign‑On Bonus! The Lead Nurse Care Coordinator oversees the nursing program and ensures the delivery of high‑quality patient care across the organization in addition to providing direct care duties in an assigned program. The lead nurse may supervise paraprofessional medical, administrative, or nursing staff. The lead nurse bridges the gap between direct nursing care and administration.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Provide consultation and operational support to program operations and clinical leadership on the day‑to‑day expectations of the nursing department.
- Provide mentorship to professional nurses in the organization and supervise any additional assigned staff.
- Assure medication accuracy with ongoing monitoring for ordering, labeling, packaging, distributing, and checking that medications ordered by the physician are administered.
- Ensure nursing documentation is entered following standards of care.
- Develop and conduct medical/health trainings as assigned to staff.
- Provide ongoing supervision and yearly performance reviews of assigned staff.
- Coordinate closely with healthcare and allied professionals and departments.
- Manage any matrix schedules across departments, including on‑call coordination with leadership.
- Take oversight and ownership of nursing and related medical supplies.
- Cares for residents/clients on non‑assigned units by covering in the absence of unit staff nurses.
- Review, revise, and implement nursing policies and procedures in collaboration with clinical leadership of assigned programs.
- Assure consistent provision of services by monitoring health care in assigned programs and communicating with program staff.
- Assure current and accurate medical records by maintaining an accurate computer database and consistently charting significant health‑related interactions.
- Associate’s degree required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
- Current Maine Registered Nurse License.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
- CRMA Training Certification preferred.
- Two years of clinical nursing experience.
- Experience in pediatric/psychiatric nursing or equivalent.
