Kitchen Manager

SACO SCHOOL NUTRITION PROGRAM

The Saco School Nutrition Program is looking for a Kitchen Manager to manage the SMS kitchen in preparing and serving children nutritious and appealing meals. This position is a working manager who directs, assists with and participates in the preparation and service of food, following a planned menu and standardized recipes, ensuring USDA meal requirements, portion sizes and special dietary needs are met.

• Successful experience in a supervisory capacity in a large quantity food service environment preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring meal service and deadlines are met
• Ability to work and collaborate effectively with others, conveying a positive attitude
• Ability to physically perform a full range of food service assignments, including standing for long periods of time, and independently lifting heavy objects weighing 50 pounds
• Must become Serv Safe certified within 6 months of hire and maintain every 5 years
• Maine Department of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC)
