Position: ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN

Job Title:

Accounting Technician Position Details

• 12‑month limited‑term position, may be extended up to 24 months and/or become permanent.

• Salary: $3,758.00 – $4,851.00 per month.



Location:

Sacramento County, ASD Sacramento; in‑office.

Responsibilities

Under close supervision of the Senior Accounting Officer, the Accounting Technician performs semi‑professional accounts payable functions and maintains fiscal records for the State Lands Commission. The position requires basic knowledge of governmental accounting principles and practices, financial record keeping, the Uniform Codes Manual (UCM) receipt codes section, and the State Administrative Manual (SAM) section 8000‑cash.

Working Conditions
  • Office‑based position in Sacramento.
  • Primarily indoor office with artificial light, forced‑air temperature control.
  • Daily use of personal computer, software programs, telephone, fax, copiers, and general office equipment.
  • Tasks include bending, stooping, standing, and transporting materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Core business hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
  • Professional office environment; business attire required.
  • Vacation time off may be limited during June–August for year‑end closing deadline.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications are listed in the Class Specification for the Accounting Technician classification.
