Audit Manager

Our client, a well-established public accounting firm, is seeking an Audit Manager to lead audit and assurance engagements while supporting team development and client relationships.

Sacramento, CA. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 3 days/week in the office.

This role sits within a collaborative environment and offers strong visibility across engagements, with a focus on delivering high-quality client service. The ideal candidate is a technically strong audit professional who can manage multiple engagements, build client relationships, and mentor team members.

• Lead and manage multiple audit and assurance engagements from planning through completion
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
• Review audit work papers, financial statements, and disclosures to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable standards
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements relevant to assigned engagements
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex issues, including specialized accounting areas
• Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure efficient delivery
• Mentor, coach, and develop audit staff and senior team members
• Collaborate with firm leadership on client service delivery and practice growth initiatives
• Stay current on accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry best practices

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; active CPA required
• 5+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on audit and assurance
• Strong knowledge of applicable accounting and auditing standards
• Experience managing multiple engagements and deadlines
• Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills
• Experience reviewing work and developing junior staff

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
