About this position
LiCAP Technologies is a Sacramento-based advanced manufacturer of battery electrodes, built around our patented Activated Dry Electrode® (ADE®) process — a cleaner, more efficient alternative to conventional electrode production. We're a lean, fast-moving company scaling up alongside major automotive and energy customers and a growing portfolio of federal and state programs. It's a hands-on environment where finance sits close to operations and your work has visible impact.
The RoleWe're hiring a Staff Accountant to own the day-to-day operational books and keep our accounting running cleanly month after month. You'll handle the general ledger and monthly close, keep our records accurate and audit-ready, and work closely with the rest of the finance team — including our AP and Purchasing/Shipping colleagues — all reporting to the Director of Finance. This is a great fit for a detail-oriented accountant who wants broad hands-on exposure in a growing company.
WhatYou'll Do
- Maintain the general ledger and support the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations (bank, credit card, and balance-sheet accounts)
- Keep financial records accurate, organized, and audit-ready
- Support accounts payable, purchasing, and shipping workflows, coordinating closely with those team members
- Assist with customer invoicing, billing, and collections
- Work in Quick Books Desktop Enterprise as a primary user
- Record and reconcile payroll activity from Rippling into Quick Books via journal entry
- Maintain the fixed-asset schedule and depreciation entries
- Support inventory and cost accounting for a manufacturing environment
- Assist with grant and government-contract cost tracking and billing
- Prepare schedules and documentation to support external tax preparers and auditors
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, including exposure to full-cycle close and reconciliations
- Hands-on Quick Books Desktop experience (required) — note this is Desktop Enterprise, not Quick Books Online
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working across systems
- Solid understanding of GAAP and month-end close basics
- High attention to detail, strong ownership, and the ability to juggle deadlines in a small company
- Manufacturing / inventory / cost accounting experience
- Grant or government-contract accounting exposure
- Familiarity with Rippling or a comparable HRIS/payroll platform
- Join a growing clean-energy manufacturer at an exciting stage of scale-up
- Broad, hands-on role with real ownership and direct mentorship from the Director of Finance
- Small, collaborative team where your contributions are seen and valued
LiCAP Technologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
