LocationThis part-time, hybrid role is based in Sacramento, California at our headquarters.
Primary RoleWebconnex is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern to join our Finance team. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an upper-division accounting student to gain practical experience in corporate accounting while working alongside experienced finance professionals.
The Accounting Intern will assist with a variety of day-to-day accounting and administrative finance activities including reconciliations, journal entries, reporting support, and general accounting projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to strengthen their accounting knowledge while applying classroom concepts in a fast-paced technology company.
ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of the Finance team, you will assist with:
- Preparing account reconciliations
- Assisting with journal entries and month-end close activities
- Supporting accounts payable and accounting administration
- Organizing and maintaining financial records
- Assisting with financial reporting and spreadsheet preparation
- Performing data analysis using Microsoft Excel
- Supporting special accounting projects as assigned
- Conducting research and gathering documentation for accounting activities
- Providing general administrative support to the Finance department
This internship offers meaningful hands-on experience in a corporate accounting environment, including exposure to:
- General Ledger accounting
- Month-end close processes
- Financial reporting
- Corporate accounting operations
- Internal controls
- Professional communication and collaboration
- Mentorship from experienced finance professionals
Students will leave this internship with practical accounting experience that complements their academic studies and prepares them for a career in public or private accounting.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications
- Previous accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or administrative experience
- Familiarity with accounting principles learned through coursework
- Experience working with spreadsheets and large datasets
Skills & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy
- Junior or Senior standing at an accredited university
- Hands on experience with Excel including pivot tables
- Has completed as least Intermediate Accounting level courses
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
