- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice intake, approval routing, payment processing, employee expense reimbursements, vendor statement reviews, and exception resolution.
- Ensure invoices and payments are processed in accordance with Golden 1 policies, delegation of authority, contractual terms, budget ownership, regulatory requirements, and established internal controls.
- Review and approve AP transactions, payment batches, vendor changes, employee reimbursements, corporate card activity, and other AP outputs within assigned authority levels and control expectations.

- Support accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities, including AP accruals, prepaid expense analysis, expense reclasses, cut-off review, open invoice reporting, and reconciliation of AP sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
- Partner with Accounting, Budget Planning & Analysis (BP&A), Finance, Treasury, Business Units, and other internal stakeholders to resolve invoice, payment, budget, and approval issues timely and professionally.
- Serve as a primary escalation point for vendor inquiries and business partner questions, ensuring issues are researched, communicated, documented, and resolved with a high level of service and professionalism.
- Maintain and strengthen AP policies, procedures, desktop guides, and process documentation; update materials in response to system changes, process redesigns, regulatory updates, audit observations, or organizational needs.
- Support internal audits, external audits, regulatory examinations, and tax reporting requirements by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, control evidence, and timely responses to information requests.
- Oversee annual Form 1099 reporting support and related vendor tax compliance processes in coordination with Accounting leadership and applicable business partners.
- Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, approval controls, vendor master controls, payment controls, documentation standards, and fraud prevention practices are maintained within AP processes.
- Prepare and review AP-related reporting, analyses, and metrics for management, including payment volume, invoice volume, corporate credit card trends, aging, exception trends, outstanding approvals, service levels, and process improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate preparation of monthly variance fluctuations and explanations for accounts payable and related expense accounts in coordination with the BP&A team, ensuring variances are researched, clearly documented, and communicated to support accurate financial reporting.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and results-driven work environment by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, encouraging ownership, and supporting a culture aligned with Golden 1's mission, vision, and core values.
- Participate in enterprise initiatives and system implementations as the AP subject matter expert, providing requirements, testing support, change management, training, and post-implementation stabilization.
