As a Payroll Specialist at InAlliance, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting adults with developmental disabilities, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time. As part of our accounting and payroll team, you’ll have the opportunity to manage biweekly payroll, reimbursements, deductions, benefits, payroll adjustments, reporting, and compliance, while also supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

- Prepare and process biweekly payroll, mileage, expense reimbursements and adjustments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review payroll earnings, deductions, and validations before processing.
- Process stipends, pre-onboarding pay, vacation cash outs, and pay increases.
- Prepare and process payroll journal entries and payroll reports; maintain organized payroll records and filing systems.
- Manage information regarding payroll tax activities, garnishments, and related compliance requirements.
- Reconcile medical benefits, deductions, and accrual balances.
- Process MITC payroll, including import reports, payroll exports, sleep exemptions, overtime (OT), and RRP calculations.
- Verify employer match contributions.
- Review and process Personnel Action Forms (PAFs) and approvals related to payroll changes.
- Complete employment verifications in accordance with organizational policy.
- Prepare quarterly BLS multi-site reporting.
- Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, payments, and follow-up. Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve payroll issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Assist with audits and provide documentation as requested.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Accounting, and leadership to ensure payroll accuracy and operational efficiency.

Qualifications RequiredEducation and Experience

Education:- Associate degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of payroll processing or payroll/accounting support experience.
- Experience working with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of payroll practices, wage and hour laws, garnishments, payroll taxes, and reconciliations.
- Experience processing high-volume payroll preferred.
- Experience with MiTC or similar payroll/timekeeping systems.
- Nonprofit payroll experience is preferred.
- Experience supporting multi-site payroll operations.
