Job Description and Duties
The Office Technician performs a wide variety of critical duties for the Northern Division Special Services Unit (SSU) and Clerical Unit, including, but not limited to:
* Perform clerical tasks for Special Services Unit (SSU) comprised of personnel assigned to the Commercial Enforcement Unit (CEU), Investigation Services (ISU) and Multidisciplinary Accident Investigations Team (MAIT) Units. Answer general telephone inquiries for all SSU and route to appropriate personnel for specific responses.
* Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, including Drug Task Force 100
DTF, Vehicle Theft 136E, Uniform Crime Report (UCR), ensuring that all reports are submitted on time. Prepare and transmit MIS comm-net for SSU.
* Generate and process all background inquiries/letters/documents for uniform and non-uniform applicants. Fax or mail law enforcement inquiries to different agencies and track returned inquiries.
* Maintain current list of Division/Area Drug Task Force (DTF) officers. Enter misdemeanor and felony into the ACCESS data base for ISU. Enter misdemeanor and felony case data from CEU and Air Ops into the AIS data base. Enter information received from Northern Division commands regarding Crimes on State Property into the SCARS data base.
* Process recurring invoices for contracted services. Copy, scan and/or fax materials for Division and Areas as requested. Process all evidence invoices for the CEU General Support Officer. Make copies and route to the proper individual. Retain copies for administrative files. Post Comm Nets. Back up for the Project Tracking Log system.
* Act as Health Benefits Coordinator for SSU. Review all health, dental and other personnel forms for submission to Personnel. Ensure that all forms for completely and properly filled out to for acceptance at Health Benefits Unit. Maintain the personnel, secondary and medical files for each employee assigned to CEU, ISU and MAIT.
* Perform other job related duties as necessary. Backup for the Motor Carrier Safety Unit Office Technician in his/her absence. Backup for Timekeeper in his/her absence.
