Job Description and Duties
Under the general supervision of the Motor Carrier Specialist III, the Office Assistant (Typing) is responsible for clerical support for the Inland Division Motor Carrier Safety Unit (MCSU). Serve as the first contact person for the Motor Carrier Safety Unit by responding to telephone calls and assisting the public at the Inland Division office. Update carrier and terminal inspection records maintained in the Carrier Information Reporting and Evaluation System (CIRES).
Enter carrier data to complete the process for assigning CHP carrier identification numbers to new motor carriers based on information from a CHP 362, Motor Carrier Profile. You will find information about the job in the Duty Statement.
