Job Description and Duties
Under the general supervision of the Division Chief, Mineral Resources Management Division (MRMD), the Office Technician (Typing) is responsible for a wide variety of clerical and administrative assignments in support of all sections and office locations of MRMD. The incumbent is required to exercise a high degree of initiative, independence, and sound judgement in successfully completing difficult office administrative functions. This position is required to have a valid CA driver's license and operate a vehicle on official State business.

* Posted salaries do not reflect the 2 - 4.62% pay reduction in exchange for 3.5 - 8 hours per month of leave arising from the Personal Leave Program 2025. Information related to salary reductions is available in Section 2113 of the CalHR Human Resources Manual.
* New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement into an alternate range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Working Conditions
* This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the State Lands Commission policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position's designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense.
* Occasional telework may be available for employees who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently upon completion of the training and/or probation period.
* Occasional travel to field offices, Sacramento or travel to attend the Commission Meetings held in Southern California.
* Use of a state or approved vehicle to travel on official business; must have a valid driver's license.
* Work in high-rise building.
* Working under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Frequent telephone contact with internal and external staff of various levels and the general public.
