Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced Remote Centered environment with variety in your work? The California Department of Insurance (CDI) is seeking a dynamic Business Entity Analyst with experience managing multiple projects and pivoting projects to meet deadlines.

Under supervision of the Supervisor I of the Administrative and Business Entity Section (ABES), the Analyst I analyzes administrative processes to identify business entity licensing improvement opportunities; participates in special studies related to business entity licensing issues; works with internal and external business entity license applicants to resolve conflicts between licensing requirements as stated in the California Insurance Code and the California Code of Regulations to apply policies and procedures;
communicates effectively by telephone or correspondence with insurance industry, license applicants licensees, and others regarding requests for approval of business entity or sole proprietor’s names; makes recommendations for changes to law and regulations affecting the ABES’ business entity licensing program; and analyzes and approves or disapproves technical, sensitive, complex documents, and fictitious name requests regarding business entity corporations, partnerships, associations, and individual licenses.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700), which includes an Assuming Office filing within 30 days of appointment, annual filings, and a Leaving Office filing within 30 days of physical separation.
Non-compliance with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may result in the voiding of appointment, financial penalties, or enforcement actions.
