Position Summary

Project Rebound assists formerly and currently incarcerated adults and youth with applying, matriculating, and persisting in education. The Administrative Coordinator provides support to the Director and Executive Director. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the day‑to‑day operations of the office and acting as the first point of contact for students and Project Rebound visitors. The Administrative Coordinator works with the student assistants and helps them navigate employment and education.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain day‑to‑day office operations.
  • Act as the first point of contact for students and visitors.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director and Executive Director.
  • Assist student assistants and students in navigating employment and educational pathways.
  • Handle inquiries, requests, and office‑administration problems.
FLSA

Non‑Exempt (eligible for overtime)

Compensation

Anticipated hiring rate: $4,367 per month. Salary range: $4,367 per month (Step
1) – $6,362 per month (Step 20). Salary step placement will be determined based on relevant qualifications and professional experience.

Work Hours

Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Summer Hours (May – August) will be 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a 30 minute lunch. Work hours are dependent on department needs.

Required Qualifications
  • Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems.
  • Ability and willingness to work with individuals regardless of criminal history and to interact in a trauma‑informed compassionate manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot most office‑administration problems and respond to all inquiries and requests related to the work area.
  • Ability to understand problems from a broader perspective and anticipate the impact of office‑administration problems and solutions on other areas.
  • Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions.
  • Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference.
  • Ability to effectively gather data and present reports from existing data systems.
  • Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels and handle highly sensitive interpersonal situations.
  • Ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.
  • Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive work environment with diverse colleagues and constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in an institution of higher education.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures independently, and use judgment and discretion to act when precedents do not exist.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide lead work direction to students.
  • Experience working with students from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, including underserved students.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal corrections systems, parole, probation, and juvenile justice.
