Position Summary

The Customer Service Coordinator oversees front‑desk reception duties, including walk‑ins, phone calls, e‑mails, and other communications for the department. The role also involves training and supervising student assistants who provide relief coverage at the front office, and coordinating with Access Coordinators, the ASL/CART Coordinator, and the Director for scheduling and communication needs.

Responsibilities
  • Manage front‑desk reception activities and student assistant training.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication with department stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate handling of walk‑in inquiries, phone calls, and e‑messages.
Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge and proficiency in standard office procedures, English grammar, and communication skills; ability to learn new office support technologies quickly; high‑school or equivalent education combined with several years of related office work experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Oracle (client‑server – Windows), CMS, and other database systems.
  • Ability to use a personal computer, printer, photocopier, multi‑line telephone, and related technology.
  • Understanding of office methods, procedures, and practices.
  • Competence in interpreting and communicating policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Strong independent work skills with the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and initiative in problem solving.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of department and student records per applicable laws.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic functions for transactional tasks.
  • Effective written presentation skills.
  • Follow instructions and seek clarification when needed.
  • Interest in working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to train, provide leadership, and supervise student assistant receptionists.
  • Commitment to a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced student services office.
