Position Summary Information
Primary Purpose
The Assistant Director of Admissions position reports to the Associate Dean of Admissions (Dean of Admissions) (with dotted line reporting to the Directors), ensuring the timely and efficient oversight of the daily admissions and recruitment activities are completed
Essential Functions
Recruitment and Prospect/Applicant Support- Key admissions team member to counsel and correspond with prospective students and applicants on the admissions requirements and process via phone, email, and in person.
- Under direction of the Associate Dean and Directors, create and manage external communications including emails, marketing communications, event programs, and newsletters for prospective, applicants and admitted students.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean and the Directors to plan, prepare, and host on-campus and virtual admissions events for prospects, applicants, and admitted candidates.
- Participate in local education coalition, pipeline, and pathway meetings and recruitment events/activities in the state, region and national stage, and other programs as assigned.
- Manage mailing and electronic mailing of all recruitment materials for scheduled events for the admissions office during the recruitment cycle.
- The office currently only uses minimal social media platforms. But in the event social media use increases, the Assistant Director would provide oversight and direction for managing department social media platforms and dissemination of event information on relevant social media platforms.
- Recruit for JD admissions; participate in campus recruiting activities such as presentations, career fairs, graduate and professional school fairs, law fairs, panels, conferences and other platforms as needed to enhance the law school’s brand and reputation.
- Support creation of marketing collateral materials and pieces under the direction of the Associate Dean and Directors.
- Explore the opportunities present in the admissions database to fine tune recruiting targets and reporting, especially as it relates to the prospect and applicant pools using existing technology tools and creative thinking under direction of the Associate Dean and Directors.
- Counsel prospective applicants regarding McGeorge programs and the application process.
- Develop and implement efficient office procedures and policies.
- Organize office workflow and procedures and support business office needs, including pro card reconciliation support, and update internal office forms throughout the admissions cycle.
- Oversee office organization, office layout, and procurement of office equipment.
- Provide daily guidance and support in maintaining the main Admissions email inbox, web inquiries, and webpage updates in a timely manner.
- Counsel applicants to complete application and communicate with them regarding missing or incomplete documents as needed.
- Oversee campus work order requests, technology support requests, and EMS reservations for campus activities.
- Perform complex compilation and tracking of information and materials received from many sources, perform data analysis, follow oral and written instructions, work independently well, and work under pressure, at times, to meet pressing deadlines.
