The primary responsibilities of the Business Analyst at Capitol Tech Solutions include collaborating closely with clients and stakeholders to identify and implement technology solutions that streamline the software development process. This role involves gathering and clarifying requirements, documenting business processes, and developing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria. The Business Analyst will also produce business and data process workflows, participate in Scrum meetings, and work with developers and testers to ensure successful implementation.

Additionally, they will create communication materials to inform clients about project progress and system adoption readiness, while staying informed about industry trends to make informed decisions.

• Interact regularly with clients to gather and clarify requirements, design features, train clients on new functionalities, and communicate back to the development team.
• Develop and implement business readiness plans that assess, identify, document, and improve existing processes and requirements, focusing on adopting and leveraging system technology for projects.
• Documenting and validating business, functional and non-functional requirements.
• Producing business and data process workflows, diagrams, and charts.
• Create use cases to describe system interactions and develop prototypes to visualize solutions.
• Develop clear and detailed user stories and acceptance criteria to guide development efforts.
• Define acceptance criteria for each backlog item and review, accept or reject completed work based on quality and completeness.
• Review data dictionary, Next Gen project documents, and detailed requirements to identify stakeholder pain points, enhancement requests, and data quality issues related to data cleansing activities.
• Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprint planning.
• Work with developers and testers to iterate on requirements, provide consulting, and sign-off on implementations.
• Develop communication messages/material to effectively inform clients about obstacles, success criteria, deliverables, and overall system adoption readiness for the client’s business.
• Monitor and evaluating product progress at each stage of the process including design and development.
• Drive projects to completion with a concern for quality and budget.
• Stay informed about industry trends and competitor products to make informed decisions.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of proven experience in technical/software development requirements, analytic documentation, predictive modeling/forecasting, statistical methods, and operational analysis.
• Competency with software development lifecycle tools like Dev Ops and JIRA.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Ability to conduct in-depth analysis with a high-level view of goals and deliverables.
• Experience in creating effective communication materials such as business and data process workflows, diagrams, and charts.
• Strong creative and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems, weigh multiple solutions, and present recommendations.
• Certificate in Business Analysis is a plus.
